Nesrin Blair is an Istanbul-born, Whitby-based visual artist. She studied with Flo Bowman at the Cedar Brook Art Centre in the 70s. She was the owner and the manger of the Neshir Gallery of Fine Arts in Scarborough from 1976 to 1986.

She also painted with the Scarborough Art Guild Group. She has spent the last few years painting with the local artists at the Whitby Station Gallery and recently joined the Ajax Creative Arts.

Nesrin has been an exhibiting artist and a jewelry maker most of her life. She currently works with acrylics, watercolors and mixed media. She expresses herself through her impressionistic style painting. Nesrin likes using bright and vibrant colors and loosened brushstroke to portray beautiful scenes.

Few of her exhibitions include the Rotary Club of Downs View Art Show, Hotel Triumph 1976 and Whitby Central Library Main Lobby Jewelry Show and Solo Art Show 2012 and 2014. She also exhibited with Whitby Station Gallery member’s Exhibition Secret World December 2015 and she has been exhibiting with the Ajax Creative Arts since 2016.

Nesrin was one of the nine local artists who were commissioned by Whitby Mayor Don Mitchell to paint the famous Whitby Lighthouse. Her painting is on display at the Whitby Town Hall since 2016.
